Imagine your favorite books – whether they’re classic novels, academic tomes, or perhaps, dare we say, a copy of Gregory Maguire’s original Wicked novel – neatly nestled between two iconic representations of good and… well, wicked. That’s exactly what this incredible 1,327-piece set promises to deliver! Designed with both utility and display in mind, these bookends are perfect for showcasing on a bookshelf, brightening up your desk, or becoming the crown jewel in your collector’s cabinet.

Elphaba’s Side: The Emerald City and The Grimmerie Unleashed

On the left, we delve into the world of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West. This side of the bookend is a striking tribute to her journey, featuring a meticulously crafted model of the legendary Emerald City. Can’t you almost hear the iconic score as you gaze upon its shimmering green spires? But the magic doesn’t stop there!

• It proudly showcases a miniature Grimmerie, the very book of spells that plays such a pivotal role in Elphaba’s transformation.
• And for a delightful touch, there’s even a cleverly hidden compartment, perfect for housing minifigures of Fiyero and even the enigmatic Wizard himself. Talk about a magical secret!

It’s a powerful testament to Elphaba’s intelligence, her burgeoning powers, and the pivotal choices she makes. Every brick tells a story, doesn’t it?

Glinda’s Side: Shiz University and a Sparkling Pastel World

Swing to the opposite end, and you’ll find Glinda’s world, bathed in her signature pastel-pink hue. This bookend celebrates the bubbly, ambitious, and ultimately compassionate Good Witch. It features a charming miniature representation of Shiz University, the very place where her unlikely friendship with Elphaba began. It’s where rivalries turned into bonds stronger than any spell!

• Just like Elphaba’s side, Glinda’s bookend includes a special compartment.
• This one is designed to hold minifigures of the formidable Madame Morrible and the ever-loyal Pfannee, adding another layer of narrative depth to the set.

These two halves, while distinct in their aesthetics and characters, perfectly mirror the complex relationship at the heart of Wicked. They truly are two sides of the same coin, or in this case, two ends of the same epic story!

A Milestone for Wicked Fans: The Debut of Traditional Minifigures

For collectors and long-time LEGO fans, this release holds a special significance. The Glinda & Elphaba Bookends set marks the official debut of Glinda and Elphaba as traditional LEGO minifigures! Yes, you heard that right! While previous Wicked sets were delightful in their own right, this is the first time these beloved characters get the classic minifigure treatment, making them even more desirable.

If you’ve been following LEGO’s journey into the Land of Oz, you’ll know they’ve already released some fantastic sets last year, each adding to the brick-built magic:

• The charming Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz University.
• The innovative buildable Glinda and Elphaba mini-dolls.

• And the grand Welcome to Emerald City sets.

This new bookends set isn’t just a standalone piece; it’s a harmonious expansion, allowing you to create an even more expansive and immersive Wicked universe right in your own home. It’s like adding another chapter to your favorite story, but in LEGO bricks!
