Filipino Pride Soars: Team Package Makers Crowned Champions at China’s WSUP!
Prepare to be amazed, dance enthusiasts and proud Filipinos! The global stage just witnessed a monumental triumph, as our very own national hip-hop dance powerhouse, Team Package Makers (TPM), etched their name into history. This incredible twenty-member crew from the Philippines has not only conquered the prestigious Worldwide Stage Uniting Performers (WSUP) competition in China, but they’ve done it with a style and flair that screamed pure Pinoy ingenuity. Imagine the sheer jubilation of becoming the first Filipino team ever to clinch this coveted title!
On August 15, 2025, in the vibrant Changsha City, Hunan Province, TPM didn’t just compete; they absolutely dominated. They went head-to-head with thirty of Asia’s most formidable dance crews, leaving them all in their wake to claim the championship in the highly competitive Adult Category. If you were wondering what it takes to stand out in a sea of immense talent, read on, because TPM just wrote the playbook!
The Grand Stage: How TPM Electrified China
The news, proudly shared by the Manila-based dance sensation on their official Facebook page on August 17, sent ripples of excitement across the nation. This wasn’t just another win; it was a testament to years of dedication, boundless creativity, and an undeniable passion for dance. The twenty strong, all-male Filipino dance troupe took to the WSUP stage with an energy that was simply infectious, commanding the attention of both the roaring audience and the discerning panel of eight judges.
The Unforgettable Performance: Doble Kara Magic
What truly set TPM apart, you ask? It was their breathtaking, world-class routine, infused with a distinctly Filipino comedic touch. They masterfully incorporated doble kara, a captivating comic performance style where one artist portrays two characters simultaneously. Picture this: one half of the body dressed as one character, the other half as another, often a male and a female, creating an immediate visual gag and a truly unique narrative on stage. This clever blend of high-octane hip-hop and playful storytelling was nothing short of genius.
Their performance was a seamless tapestry of synchronized moves, a balanced display of potent masculine energy fused with a graceful feminine touch, all underscored by a powerful stage presence that filled every corner of the arena. Did their efforts pay off? Absolutely! The judges awarded them an astonishing combined score of 96%, the highest among all competing teams. This wasn’t just a victory; it was a resounding declaration of their artistry and undeniable skill.
More Than Just a Trophy: Gratitude and Global Recognition
As true champions, TPM wasted no time in extending their heartfelt gratitude. In a recent Facebook post, they shared a touching message, acknowledging everyone who stood by them throughout their arduous journey to the competition and ultimately, to victory. “Our win was made possible by hundreds of names and faces – and for that, we thank you!” the group humbly shared, a beautiful reminder that success is often a collective effort.
Their hard-earned triumph brought home not just the coveted champion’s plaque but also a substantial cash prize of CNY100,000, which translates to a fantastic PHP796,000. This financial reward is a testament to their dedication and opens new doors for the team’s future endeavors.
A Winning Legacy: TPM’s Journey of Excellence Continues
If you’re thinking this sudden rise to global prominence is a fluke, think again! Team Package Makers has been consistently proving their mettle on the international dance circuit. In 2024, they also emerged as the reigning champions at Singapore’s premier dance competition, Super 24. This consistent track record of excellence showcases their relentless pursuit of perfection and their unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of hip-hop dance.
