“The Tinyenta and the Kapitana”
In the night of Easter Sunday, the “Bunutan” — draw lots — is held to identify the new Tinyenta and Kapitana.
Konsehalas are also chosen in the same process. The six (6) Konsehalas will serve as associates of the Tinyenta and Kapitana in fulfilling their duties.
There is a bit of pageantry in this tradition, which is something the townspeople are fond of.
Prominent families in Angono get to send representatives to join the Bunutan.
Ulltimately, this shows the young people’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
